“The National Police Commissioner, General Fannie Masemola, stated that there are potential leads in the mass murder of six Community Policing Forum (CPF) members in Godini village in Qumbu, Eastern Cape. He visited the scene of the shooting, which resulted in six fatalities and four injuries. General Masemola mentioned that some of the leads indicate local involvement in the incident.”
“We have some promising leads and are currently considering around six suspects. We can confirm that three of them appear to be local residents. As for the others, we are unsure of their origins, but they may not be from very far, possibly from the neighboring municipality.”
“So, we have since, even before coming here, I spoke to the provincial commissioner [Lieutenant General Nomthetheleli Mene], we have a district team being put together that is on the heels of these suspects as we speak now,” Masemola adds.
