The Chairperson of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in the eThekwini Region, Bhekithemba Mvubu, says there is hope for the EFF to regain its support base in KwaZulu-Natal.
Mvubu is one of the branch leaders who met with the EFF leader, Julius Malema, in Durban. The meeting provided an opportunity for branch leaders and ground forces to report back to the EFF’s national leadership about the reasons behind the party’s decline in KZN in the May 29 general elections. Despite the decline, Mvubu says that party members are still fully committed to growing the EFF.
“Here in eThekwini, we have not received any resignation letters from anyone. Fighters are rejuvenated because there is a drive. We are busy encouraging our fighters and the leadership to renew their membership. So that is what is happening at first sight seems to be a defeat. We can’t decide to close up shop because we are not cowards. That is why we are called ‘fighters-sight, which’.
