ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula expressed confidence that the newly formed task team in KwaZulu-Natal will assist the ANC in regaining support in the province. The ANC has appointed a 67-member task team as part of its reconfiguration plan for the party.
This is after it dissolved the provincial leadership structures in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng. Jeff Radebe will serve as KZN convenor.
Mbalula says, “The Provincial Task Team (PTT) is established as the interim structure to oversee the stabilization of the organization, drive political education, and work towards the revitalization of ANC branches across the province. Additionally, the PTT is mandated to revive relations with Amakhosi and faith-based communities, Amabandla, recognizing that these institutions played a foundational role in the birth and evolution of the ANC. The ANC acknowledges the historical and moral authority of these structures in guiding our society and affirms the need to strengthen our collaboration to advance unity, social cohesion, and transformation.”
