Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has stated defiantly that he will not be bullied by Elon Musk or former US President Donald Trump. His remarks came after he was falsely labeled an “international criminal” due to unfounded claims of land grabs in South Africa.
Addressing congregants at the St. Paul African Apostolic Church in Soweto, Johannesburg, on Sunday, Malema remained steadfast, rejecting what he described as baseless accusations and external pressure.
Malema says, “Why do you make me an international criminal for asking for the dignity of black people, I have not committed any crime against anyone except to say let’s restore the dignity of black person, if you don’t have the land, you will never have dignity.”
Malema also addresses the unfolding situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), which saw South Africa lose 14 of its soldiers.
The EFF leader has reiterated his call for the withdrawal of the SANDF. “We are not refusing to send our soldiers to the DRC; we are simply saying they should be withdrawn because we are not prepared to go anywhere. Once we have adequately prepared ourselves, we can deploy to the DRC.”
In an apparent jab at former EFF members, Malema stated, “I will never be broken by that which did not build me. I have lost my brothers who turned against me, but I never looked back. I have never doubted myself, even when my brothers betrayed me. It is not the first time that brothers have turned against each other; it is mentioned in the Bible. So, why should I be a crybaby when they turn against me?”
Malema, however, could not be drawn on Ndlozi’s revelations of an intelligence report on the alleged infiltration of the MK in the EFF as well as Ndlozi’s absence from the party’s conference being attributed to his suspension.
