uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MK Party) leader Jacob Zuma has arrived at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban where the party is holding its first anniversary rally, since its formation on 16 December last year.
He is due to address the rally later this afternoon. Although the party secured over 45% of the votes in KwaZulu-Natal in May’s general elections, it did not secure an outright majority.
This led to the formation of a government of provincial unity between the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP), the African National Congress (ANC), the Democratic Alliance (DA), the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and the National Freedom Party (NFP).
The MK Party holds 58 seats in Parliament. Thousands of MK Party supporters have flocked to the stadium, dressed in party regalia and waving MK party flags.
