A Sekhukhune United soccer player has turned himself in to police following a fatal crash that resulted in the death of a nine-year-old child. The accident occurred yesterday morning along Andrew Mapheto Road in Tembisa, Ekurhuleni.
Ekurhuleni Metro Police’s Spokesperson Thabiso Makgatho says the 29-year-old driver collided with a car driven by a woman who was ferrying two children to school.
Makgatho says the soccer star handed himself over at Rabie Ridge police station.
The crash came a day after the football club claimed a 2-0 victory against Richard’s Bay at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Tuesday night.
