Former Free State Premier Ace Magashule, Moroadi Cholota, an aide to the former Free State premier, is due to appear in the Bloemfontein High Court this morning for a pre-trial hearing.
Cholota, 37, is one of 18 defendants in the R255-million asbestos roofing project case that dates back to 2014. The case was adjourned last month to allow her legal representative time to review the case.
Cholota was officially charged following her extradition from the United States.
In previous court appearances, Cholota argued that she had been cooperative since her arrest in April in the US. She faces charges of fraud, corruption, and money laundering related to the asbestos roof removal scandal.
In August, the High Court dismissed Cholota’s urgent application to have her arrest and extradition declared unlawful and unconstitutional, with costs.
