MK Party Head of Presidency, Magasela Mzobe, stated that the party is ready to reassign all the expelled Members of Parliament (MPs) to other positions within the party.
Mzobe spoke in an exclusive interview with the SABC. Last month, the party was taken to court by 10 of its MPs for replacing them in the National Assembly. However, the Western Cape High Court dismissed their urgent interdict application.
The MPs have vowed to appeal the decision.
Mzobe stated that MK leader Jacob Zuma wants to ensure fair treatment for the MPs. “We represent black people and understand the financial impact on their lives. When they are sworn in and subsequently removed, it affects their integrity, dignity, and their families,” he said. He added that even though they have been expelled, party members should be reassured that it is not a personal attack against them.
